Reasons why your hair colour might be fading

One of the reasons your hair colour might be fading is that you’re using your styling tools at too high a heat. Anything over 170 degrees Celsius (338 Fahrenheit) WILL fade your colour.

In the below example, I have used a hair straightener set to 230 degrees Celsius (446 degrees Farenheight) and you can see clearly how the heat has affected this colour.

To avoid fading your colour and damaging your hair- Keep your temperature at 170 degrees or less!

Other things that you can do prevent coloured hair from fading:

Use a salon recommended shampoo and conditioner that will protect and prolong your colour. I recommend trying to use a the same brand that has been used for your colour. For example, I use Goldwell colour and would recommend my salon guests with coloured hair use the Goldwell colour shampoo and conditioner which has been formulated to be ph balanced to minimises color fading with every use and boost color longevity.
